Between the Easter Term 1999 and April 2000, OFSTED inspected the School of Education's in-service education and training of teachers (INSET) which is funded by the Teacher Training Agency. In the reports each aspect is graded on a four-point scale as follows:
1 Very good quality, with several outstanding features;
2 Good quality, with no significant weaknesses;
3 Adequate, but requires significant improvement;
4 Poor quality.
