Professor Sir John Bertrand Gurdon, Ph.D., (Hon.) Sc.D., FRS, (Hon.) FRCP, (Hon.) FRSB, Honorary Fellow and former Master of Magdalene College, Honorary and former Professorial Fellow of Churchill College, Emeritus John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Cell Biology, Nobel and also Wolf Prizewinner, Copley Medallist, co-founder and first Chair of the Gurdon Institute, died on 7 October 2025, aged 92 years.
Peter Furneaux Friend, M.A., Ph.D., Emeritus Fellow and former Librarian of Darwin College, formerly Fellow and Director of Studies in Earth Sciences of Gonville and Caius College, sometime University Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Geography, onetime Senior Assistant in Research in Polar Research and University Demonstrator in the former Faculty of Geography and Geology, Polar and W. S. Bruce Medallist, died on 9 October 2025, aged 91 years.
Michael George Kuczynski, M.A., Emeritus Fellow and former Steward, Assistant Tutor, Director of Studies and College Lecturer in Economics of Pembroke College, onetime Director of Studies in Economics of Hughes Hall, formerly Affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Land Economy and sometime Proctor (Junior), died on 10 October 2025, aged 84 years.
