Further information on requests for a ballot or the amendment of Graces is available to members of the Regent House on the Regent House Petitions site.§
1. That the recommendations in paragraph 6 of the Report of the Council, dated 20 October 2025, on the proposed disposal of land and buildings at 1–3 Hills Road (Reporter, 6800, 2025–26, p. 73) be approved.1
2. That with effect from 1 October 2026, Regulation 2 of the Ordinance for the Passingham Fund and Prize (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 941) be amended to read as follows:2
2. There shall be a prize, called the Passingham Prize, which shall be open for award in each year by the Head of the Department of Psychology to a student who in the opinion of the Head of the Department has done work of sufficient merit in that year as a candidate for the Psychological and Behavioural Sciences Tripos, Part II, or as a candidate for the degree of Ph.D. or M.Phil. in the Department of Psychology, provided that the Prize shall not be awarded to any student to whom it has been awarded on a previous occasion.
3. That Regulations 1, 3 and 4 of the Ordinance for the Ra Jong-Yil Fund (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 956) be amended to read as follows:3
1. The sums given to the University by Ra Jong-Yil, of Seoul, Republic of Korea, and others shall form a fund called the Ra Jong-Yil Fund. The first charge on the income of the Fund shall be the honorarium of a Ra Jong-Yil Lecturer or Lecturers.
3. In the Easter Term of each year the Managers shall appoint a person to give the annual Ra Jong-Yil Lecture. Alternatively, if the Managers consider there is sufficient income available in any given year, they may appoint one or more Lecturers to give a series of Ra Jong-Yil Lectures in that year. In making the appointments the Managers shall, if possible, select scholars qualified to lecture on a topic related to the history, politics, and culture of Korea.
4. The honorarium paid to the Lecturers shall be such sum as shall be determined by the Managers within a range approved from time to time by the Council. In addition the Managers may at their discretion defray from the income of the Fund any expenses of the Lecturers and any other expenses incurred in connection with the lectures.
1See the Council’s Notice, p. 117.
2The Council, on the recommendation of the General Board and with the support of the Committee of Management for the Psychological and Behavioural Sciences (PBS) Tripos and the Committee of Management for the Natural Sciences Tripos (NST), is proposing these changes to reflect amendments to the examination regulations for those Triposes from 1 October 2026. From that date, Psychology will no longer be available as a subject for study in Part II of the NST, with the subject instead being offered as Part II of the PBS Tripos (Reporter, 6801, 2025–26, p. 80). A reference to the degree of M.Sc. has also been replaced with a reference to the degree of M.Phil. to reflect the degrees offered by the Department.
3The Council, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Faculty Board of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and the Managers of the Fund, and with the support of the donor, is proposing these changes, in accordance with Statute E I 8, to enable more than one Lecturer to be appointed or more than one Lecture to be given each year, provided that there is sufficient income available to support those alternative arrangements.
