Report of the Council on changes to Statutes G II and G III concerning College contributions, the Colleges Fund and College accounts: Notice in response to Discussion remarks

5 February 2026

The Council has received the remarks made on the above Report at the Discussion on 20 January (Reporter, 2025–26: 6808, p. 169; 6813, p. 317).

This Report proposes a largely technical set of amendments, transferring parts of the University’s Statutes concerning College contributions and related matters to Special Ordinance, so that in future changes to those parts will only require approval by the Regent House. Professor Evans notes the expectation that more adjustments will follow if the Report’s recommendations are approved and asks whether these further changes are to be approved by Grace. As the transferred text would be in Special Ordinance, a Grace would be required for its amendment after the issue of a Report, in accordance with Statute A III 5.

The Council is submitting a Grace (Grace 1, p. 331) for the approval of the recommendations of this Report.
